I <3 Cooling Towers.
Ok...just want to put this out there - I really fucking love power station cooling towers. So much that I am actually considering some kind of tattoo. A stylised version of something like this:

I love this one because a) the cracks down the side of them look amazing, b) because the cows in the field give a sense of how fucking huge they are but mostly c) because my dad used to work at this powerstation (Thorpe Marsh), and we used to go to this one and Eggborough for days out. Genuinely. They used to have a massive bonfire every year for the staff at Thorpe Marsh and Eggborough even used to have a model railway on site. They're such a womanly shape, and are so massive that they should be intimidating but I find them strangely reassuring. When they got rid of the ones in Sheffield near Meadowhall I was properly devastated. I used to be able to see 5 different power stations a certain point in my village and it's the one environmental thing I missed when I moved down to Wales.
