Go Meme!

My questions were from miramanga

1. I know you're a mad scientist, but what EXACTLY do you do? (So I can understand please!)
Well, my job description states Healthcare Scientist, but I'm coming up to my assessment to be a Biomedical Scientist (they're practically the same thing, but to work in a diagnostic lab you need to be a BMS).  I work for the Health Protection Agency, basically testing patient samples for various viruses. Here in London it's mostly HIV, Hepatitis, Herpes and HTLV.  Back in Cardiff it was more general viruses, flu, chicken pox and allsorts.

2. What do you like most and least about London?
I've really grown to love London.  Just the sheer amount of stuff that is always going on, a lot of it free! :D  The worst bit about London is less about London, more about Maff's job.  He works shifts so there are lots of stuff going on that I don't always get to go to because I'd have to go on my own and that's a bit sad.

3. Tell me the story of you and Maff!!
Oh my.  Well...we went to the same 6th form, and got to know eachother on the local "rock night" out round town.  Which would have been cool if a) I hadn't have had a boyfriend at the time and b) moving to Wales to start uni in 2 months or so.  But we had an affair anyway (can it be an affair if you're only 17/18?  I dunno, affair sounds grown up).  I went to uni, he met someone else and our paths didn't cross for about a year and half.  Me and my boyfriend broke up during this time, and I went home for a visit on summer.  Me and Maff went for a drink (completely platonically), the next day I was in Peterborough, and he rang me saying he'd broken up with his girlfriend and could he come and stay with me in Wales for a few days?  He came and stayed, and basically never left.  He quit his Business Studies course and started up a Film and Video course and that was that.

4. What's your ONE *I could not live without this* luxury?
Ooooooh. Probably the internet.  That's quite sad isn't it?

5. Who is your favourite Adam Buxton OR Charlie B...? (I think I know the answer to this!)
Mr Brooker hands down.  Adam and Joe are funny, but I quite like the misanthropy and self-deprecation of Brooker.

And a photo from the bus last night before things all went a bit failful:
