Alright, so we've all survived the summer and returned for a new year. As such, I have some news for folks. First up, S.A.F.E. is a student run safety commission for student use. Want an escort to your car? Want a drive home? Want someone to check your dorm room? Want to learn self-defense? Then come to S.A.F.E. and find out how or call us for help. You can reach us standardly, via our campus phone (phone #) or by dialing 5911 on any of the call boxes on campus. You can also come by our offices in the basement of the campus police building. If you'd like to volunteer to help with any of our activities, drop by and speak with me, Sammie, or Frankie.
Second up, the local V.F.W. is hosting a barbecue and silent auction Labor Day weekend. All of the proceeds go to help the families of those injured or slain in the line of duty. It's a good cause, there's going to be some awesome Memphis style barbecue, there's going to be live music, and if you like that sort of thing, dancing. Also, they're looking for bands who might be interested in playing on the cheap. They have equipment, so you'd just need to bring your instruments. Let me know if you're interested and I can hook you up with the director of the event or sell you tickets to attend.
Third, I have an apartment now. I share it with Bram, but the kitchen belongs to Frankie. Don't touchee. But since I do, I'm looking to get a dog. Frankie needs an animal (other than me) to take care of and all. I like dogs. Big, energetic, bounding across the lawn dogs. I run every day, so it would get plenty of exercise with me, even if it is in an apartment. Suggestions on where to go? Yes, Frankie. I'm buying you, me, us a puppy!
