big update
I am in a good mood for some reason. I’m not sure exactly why but I’m not complaining! I didn’t get much work done during the weekend but I’m being productive now and I was earlier today and it seems to be paying off. I might be figuring out what I’m really interested and what I want to study so this is good!
I had a great weekend. On Friday I had my usual dose of two classes- Spanish and Racism, Nationalism, Multiculturalism (Anthropology class) discussion and then my weekly Friday lunch with Kevin. We talked about some stuff. It was enjoyable. Then Meghan and I prepared for Elaine’s little birthday surprise. We made chocolate fondue in the 388 lounge and had pound cake, strawberries, pretzels, and cookies. We also had a card - hopefully she loved it! It was cute. Meghan’s mom had lunch with her earlier during the day so she joined us for a little bit.
After cleaning up, I packed and Adam picked me up and we got take out from Thai 99. Despite the semi-crappy service, the food there really is good. Of course, nothing compares to Thai Square, but hey I have to settle for something here in Charlottesville. I was so stuffed from the fondue though. We went back to Adam’s, watched a little bit of TV, and then went to the Comedy show. It was pretty funny. I definitely want to make that a regular thing to go to when UPC has acts come. We saw Mike Birbiglia and Greg Giraldo (host of Friday Night Standup on Comedy Central).
Saturday we mostly ran errands and Adam’s parents came down from home. We hung out and ate at the nice Italian restaurant here called La Cucina (it means “the kitchen,” I’m guessing like Spanish “cocina”). We watched the Olympics which is so much cooler than I remember.
This morning we made breakfast for his parents. Our usual pancake/french toast variety. Then lots of work! I had my Sunday night UJC meeting which I love so much (sarcasm) but is necessary I suppose. Now I’m doing more work.
Completely switching subjects, I really want to study abroad next summer. Here are the places I’m considering as of right now:
-London
-South Africa
-Fiji (go ahead and make fun of me)
Also (just as important of course) are things I want from Urban Outfitters. If you love me, buy them for me.
