Don't feel like dancing?

Feb 06, 2007 00:32

Today is Monday the 5th of February.
It's the first Monday in February so it has the dubious honour of being known as national sickie day.

This day more than any other is the most common day of the year for folks in the UK and Ireland to just stay in bed and phone in sick to work.

It's actually the first nice day we've had in ages. There may be a chill in the air but it's sunny today and there are blue skies overhead.

Still feeling a bit peeved in general. No reason. Just the way the season hits you sometimes. Nobody in the office wants to work today. Everyone's pretty up-beat. Just no desire to work at all. I was giving this some thought as I went across the road for my lunch to read some "Hannibal Rising" and have the home-made carrot and fennel soup they had on. I enjoyed my reprieve from the office but as I was finishing my lunch to come back I heard the Scissor Sisters song on the radio summing up the day. The lyrics sang out "I don't feel like dancing. No Sir. No Dancing today."

In another burst of irony, we signed yp for swing-dancing classes today.
