I felt like I was in Chicago aka. The Windy City, not Austin. Not only was it much chillier than yesterday, the wind was blowing so hard that my hair nearly stood on edge and my scarf adopted a mind of its own. Somehow, I arrived to work looking exactly like I did when I left my apt. This means one of two things, A- My hair looked horrible when I left and I am in complete denial, B- My lovely locks are super resistant to thrashing of aggressive wind. I'd like to say the answer is B. but I am clearly a partisan voter. Hmmmm... maybe it’s time to schedule a cut and color.
My stroll was truly beautiful; the air felt cleaner, less humid and carried a nice aroma. This is especially enhanced while walking next to the capitol and then Governors mansion. How nice it must be to live in that house free of bills and upkeep. The grounds are always perfect and some flower or two is always in bloom. Oh, and there is patrol on site 24/7.
As I rounded the final corner to my building I noticed a scene right off BET. Two young guys dressed in color coordinating jumpsuits, with bling to enhance the look. As I work next to the capitol, I never see interesting things like this. I kept waiting for them to start rapping and girls in bikini tops and tight jeans to dance around them. That would have made my entire morning. Alas, this wasn't the case, and they just stood there, bopping their heads to music that wasn’t playing.
Now I am at my desk, waiting for a good-bye lunch for a co-worker to begin. Then its meetings all afternoon and an attempt to get some serious work done.
All I want to do is get back out side and walk around all day.
