In an attempt to jump start my lazy ass, I attended a spinning class at 24 last night. Holy Hell it was hard. The room was pretty dark which kicks ass and not too full, but they keep it at 80 degrees! WTF! We get our bikes situated and start peddling. After about 10 minutes I contemplated quiting. The idea of 50 more minutes of this stuff was way more than I could handle. I kept going, slowing when I needed to rather than going at the neck-braking speed the instructor demanded and around minute 35, I got my flow. It felt great. Even though I thought my head might explode with the heat and blood rushing through my body and I might throw up at the exact same time, I kept going. Nearing the 50 minute mark I was thanking God this class was nearly over and we could cool down. When our last 'hill' was completed and our cool down sufficed, we stretched, and I saw that my entire t-shirt was soaked -- gross -- seriously. The chicks in front of me, who instructed me on how to adjust the bike asked me how it went and encouraged me to come again. Classes are scheduled almost every day and I am really excited to work my way up to actually keeping in step with the instructor for the entire class.
After-wards I had to go grocery shopping at HEB. Luckily, many people go after their work outs, so I wasn't the only one nastified and contemplating which orange was best.
I can say that I was amazed with how much energy I had about an hour after the workout-- and I was not hungry at all. I made dinner and ate like two bites before feeling completely full! RAD.
This morning I got up earlier than normal, as planned, heard that it would be cooler out and decided to walk to work. UH, Hello, weatherman, could you emphasize that it was so freaking humid out?!? For Petes sake, it was cooler, but by the time I had reached the half way mark I was hot as hell. It was unbelievably beautiful out though. I took a wrong turn into the capitol grounds and had the pleasure of walking through the grassy tree-filled park. The humidity made the grass and trees light up and smell stronger than I have ever noticed before, which made up for the heat. I arrived to work and felt much better than when I had left my house. And muchh better than when I arrived to work yesterday.
