Question for all ya'll out there ...

Does anyone know any reputable sites that one can go to if one is looking into a "work from home" program? I know that there are legitimate companies out there looking for people to do data-entry-esque things from their home, but when I go to search on the internet, I get more "avoid work-at-home-scams" listings than anything else. I don't know ( Read more... )

The best thing for me was babysitting other kids in my home. I had two little kids to play with Tristan when he was a baby, and it worked out great. It's not for everyone though. You really have to keep them busy all day long, but the hours really fall in line with other normal business hours. You wouldn't have to forsake your time with the hubby once Henry went to sleep.

Yeah, I've actually thought about that. But to be honest, I don't know of I'd be completely comfortable watching someone else's child, unless it was a close friend's or family member's; I think I'd worry too much about something going wrong (go my OCD!). But still, it's a good suggestion. Maybe I'll convince some friends to pop out a couple kids so I can babysit them ;) Anyway, I haven't ruled it out completely ... thanks for the thoughts!

Infant care is hard to find, and if you took on a baby or two in your home, you could keep Henry home with you and make some decent moolah.

Like I said in my comment above, I've actually toyed with this idea. I remember reading that you are "nanny-ing" for a baby now (are you still?) and thought "Hmmm, I wonder if I could do that?". Again, I just feel like "who would trust ME with their kid?". I mean, I only have 15mo. experience at this baby thing, I'm not certified in anything (though I did take an infant CPR class last year), my apartment is small and in a rougher neighborhood, etc. But it *is* a really good suggestion. Like I said above in my other comment, I wish some friends would have babies and let me watch them, daggummit! That would solve all my problems ...

But thanks for the advice - I certainly need to study my options, you know?
