yah fun!
Well,
I DID IT! I was "on the air" for the first time ever today! It was SO flippin scary! This summer I conquered my fear of heights by rappelling down a 40ft wall everday with nothing but my own two hands to stop me from hitting the ground (at a decent speed), I rappelled from an 80 ft rockface without a safety rope and yet, I was petrified to talk on the radio!!!
It was crazy! There's so many buttons to push and I am a time pessimist as it is and you have to stay on top of things... BUH! It was interesting and I have to say it's kinda fun. I'm afraid that the guy who is training me is gonna go postal on me cause I constantly ask questions and double-check... he's gonna hate me before this is over! LOL!!! Thankfully, he's really kind about all of it and patient so it's all good! HAHA!
That's pretty much the biggest part of my day. That and the fact that now that I'm in Camarada I have SOOO many friends! I love the fact that when I walk around campus I constantly see fellow comrades and they know my name and are incredibly sweet! I LOVE PHI LAMBDA SIGMA!
But still, the radio part of the week is the most terrifying for me... I get really nervous and spaz out a little.... and talk to myself usually critiquing what I'm doing and griping at myself (I hope that Stephen doesn't hear me...)
Funny story about talking to myself! I'm sick and coughing a lot and today I was in the Decker breezeway and I coughed really loud so I then said out-loud while no one was around "DANG THAT ECHOED!!!" and low-and-behold there was a guy from my Spanish class walking out a door.. so I fessed up to talking out loud and it turns out he didn't even hear me... so I basically looked like an idiot... OH WELL, thats me I guess! ANYWAY! I love you my friends and miss you terribly and hope that I can see a lot of you over Fall Break!!!! Mark your calenders it's coming up just around the corner! YAH!!!!!!! I expect a celebration..maybe not but it would be freakin sweet to have a gathering of a lot of us!
