Who moved my cheese?

When I read that book, yea these many long years, newly awash with my sensei's instructions to 'always make the right decisions at the right time, I had imagined not having to ever truthfully make use of it. In reality, looking back on this year, the hip surgery, becomiung a casualty of the second Great Depression, reaffirming friendships with some old people, an embarassment of riches at the beginning of the year, and a wasteland of inactivity at the end, I can safely say that this year has to clearly have been one of the worst on record recently. About the only bright spot is the fact that the Assassin has recently begun to contact me again, and it appears there may be a rekindling of our interaction. That remains to be seen. At the very least, I still have food in my fridge, a roof over my head, and the car hasn't been repossesed. So far.

Actually, I guess that's not entirely true - I am no longer being woken up at night in pain, I can walk for miles and not have to stop because I simply can't operate any longer, I'm losing inches off my waist because I can move more and easier, and I, unlike millions of others, haven't lost my ass to the downturn. I guess the situation could, in fact, be somewhat worse. I mean, maybe I'll even get lucky and win the FetLife holiday giveaway! Maybe I should go play the lottery this weekend...
