This is the same sort of thing I've seen pop up as a sort of cause celebre in a lot of places - Intervention (the A&E show) or other more accessible locations like thedevilsrobot blog.   However, I can't help making a major stink about it myself, especially when the middle sibling, always affectionately referred to here as santomincho blows into town and manages to run

Spanks! errr...thanks. Dunno about middle sib syndrome, I think it's actually identified in the DSM-IV, but it seems to be a uniquely human phenomenon. Freakin naked apes...
