YUMCHA

Think very carefully when you take your 41/2 year old daughter to YUMCHA,

The story starts with my sister and her wife coming down to Hurstville for Yumcha with the family. For some reason beyond my imagination it fell on me to organise my family to get together for the culinary delights.
I invite my family, ie my ex-wife and daughter, there is agreement to come. I feel pretty good at that, feeling like I've done some good in the world. So feeling pretty good with my abilities to organise, I turn to the fun game of herding the cats that are my family. So after much toing and throwing i organise the time of 11 o'clock. YAY.
Now I had read that this Yumcha was a popular one so went early to get a table, resigning myself to a wait for a table as on does. So I front up at 20 to 11 and find the place with only a few poeple milling about. I approach the helpful person at the front and explain that I need a table for 10 and the rest of my party will turn up in about 15 min(a small lie) and get a table immediately.
SHOCK is not sufficient to describe my sensations.
So there is a flurry of calls and texts to find out where my family is most are less than ten minutes away, Shock is no longer a word to describehow I felt and will just have to resort to GACK.
My exwife and Daughter are the first to arrive. We catch up, Lily rattles off her week in exuburant style, always asking when the food starts. she is also keen for my brother to turn up, she thinks is the best uncle. The rest of the family trickles in. Lily is almost hopping with anticipation.
The trolley dolly start to bring around steaming goodness in many different shapes and texture. Lily is agreeing to pretty much any suggestion, dumpling wontons, spring rolls, chicken feet, tripe is apparently ugly and not to be eaten. Tea was the drink "not water with Yumcha, Daad!" quite definite.
She had also brought her Leaf book, which there was much discussion about. Where on the property certain thing were found what they were like, how they had changed.
We spent a couple of hours hoovering through alsorts of Lily chosen eats. most good, some very surprising, ala sesame sweets.
Afterward we (ex wife, Lily and Myself) wandered the streets of Hurstville looking in as Lily calls them "Chinese shops because they are cool". There were many bargains to be had. We finished up the day in Hurstvilles rather impressive Acqurium, lots of "Nemo" and "Dory" fish to be seen.
It was a great day.

Tonight we will be having dinner and mebee looking at the Lunar Eclipse.
