The Folk Fest Roundup

What a gloriously tenuous thing a good drunken night is. All the ingredients have to be apportioned just right. If one of them goes south at the wrong moment, what was headed for a good strong outcome can turn into a huge mess in a matter of seconds.

Yesterday was my golden Folk Fest day. A perfect string of events that culminated in a 5:30am walk home in a light drizzle. Today has been less perfect (hence I am typing this from bed at 11:55pm). It was good, but, maybe as a result of the fine drunken state i was in last night, i really haven't been feeling that well all day which has resulted in some mild cranky behavior which snowballed into guilt which then turned into bad tasting beer and then it was time to go to bed.

Sometimes I feel bad for ditching out on the evenings. But not really. I know that it's generally better for me to remove my cranky self from a crowd than stick it out, least I start to sway anyone else into my mood.

Last year was my best folk fest ever. And while there were many wonderful things that happened this year, I believe that last year's remains the best.

Here's to Folk Fest 2010.
