I am not supposed to know

Today was a real downer, can I just tell ya?

I walked into Maloney's, and all of Hauppauge was there. It seems so hard to have the right words for people who are questioning, who are hurting, who are looking for answers. After so many years in ministry, the hardest thing is giving people answers when you don't have them yourself.

I don't have all the answers. Some people really struggle with that. I guess I just LOOK like I know a lot of stuff 'cause I wear glasses.

Let me ask you... how do you answer someone when they ask you why a holy woman with great faith had to suffer with so many ailments for so long, or how God can take away someone's daddy in a tragic accident while his kids watched?

The truth is, we aren't supposed to have all the answers. Our inquisitiveness and our human-ness make us want to know everything, but we just aren't meant to know everything. We go through school being challenged to know everything. We are told that knowledge is power.

God reminds us that knowledge is not the power. HE is the power, and reveals the answers we need them, as HE sees fit, and as HE prepares us for them.

God wants us to be faithful to the journey, not always understand everything that happens on that road. I have been struggling with that today HARDCORE.

For those of you who understand the typical-Joe reference... AS HE SEES FIT, NOT AS WE DO.

I really need a retreat today.

And with that I wish you a Good Night.
