So I had to schedule my yearly ouch session (i.e. mamogram) and I decided to try out the new 'state of the art' breast health system that the university hospital just opened in my town.
I did a web search for the phone number, it takes me to the hospital web site, find the number (1-888......) and phone for an appointment. The operator gives me the phone number to phone the center. um... but your website says phone here - okay so I have to make another phone call.
Called the new number, have to listen to the numbers menu twice because I missed what she said the first time. Pushed my number, get another numbers menu, pushed my number, get ANOTHER numbers menu .... at this point I'm just laughing and wondering if I'll ever get a human. I think after the 4th numbers menu I finally get a human!!! YAY - made my appointment for next Tuesday morning. Which is great, normally when I call, I have to wait a month for an opening.
I was at the center last Tuesday evening for the Race kick off, what I saw of it was very lovely and according to their webstie it sound great:
state-of-the-art facility, the Breast Health Center offers:
outstanding clinical care under the medical direction of a board certified, fellowship trained breast surgeon
sophisticated breast care technologies, including digital mammography
access to certified breast health navigators
genetic counseling
breast health education and support services
comfortable, spa-like environment
I found out that the head Doctor at the facility is the one who did Mom's lumpectomy surgery 12 years ago. Now I just have to arrange to get my films from the radiology clinic I went to last year.
