stupid snow

It's pretty to look at, but I really REALLY hate driving in it. I think that's because the only accident I ever had was in the snow.

I actually DID try to go to work this morning. I walked out of the house around 7:00 AM, figuring if I left an hour early, I would beat the normal commuter traffic. There was already a little over an inch of snow on the ground. Although I had heard the trucks go through, it didn't look like they plowed. I think they were laying sand/salt - but the snow if falling too hard and just covered up whatever they did.

I put the car into 4-wheel drive and drove out. Being in a rural area, I decided to take the long way, since the route I normally travel is all back roads and wouldn't be plowed/traveled well. The main roads were a mess. I figured how to get the car into Snow mode (push the button to "W" for weather - the "S" means standard (sigh). Okay three miles from home, lost traction four times even with the car in snow mode and 4-wheel drive. I don't think I did anything over 25 mph.

After loosing traction for the 4th time, I turned around and headed home. Work is just not worth an accident.
