I also found out that September 27th is St. Cosmas and Damian's Day. Whoever they are. Will do some searching to find out. :-)
So last night Paul & Gail invited me over to celebrate my birthday with a dinner. They invited a whole bunch of folks and I invited my Mom so she could meet all these people I'm always talking about. She's actually me about half of them already.
Jonny & Peach were celebrating their 8th Anniversary yesterday too. So Peach made us a fabulous seafood alfradeo (sp?) with crabmeat and shrimp. Paul threw some burgers on the grill, although I never got a chance to get one, I was too stuffed after the munchies Gail put out and the pasta. Emeline made a cake (from her good friends Duncan & Betty ;-} ) and she even found Star candles!!! Gail also got me my favorite ice cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, but I only had a little bit since I was stuffed with good food and cake.
SciFi must have known it was my birthday because they were having a "Firefly" marathon! So we watched that while we visited. At 9:00 PM we took a break and a few of us went downstairs to the big tv to watch "Supernatural," which is fast becoming a favorit show. At 10:30 we turned back into SciFi and watched the "makeing of Serenety" program.
I missed some of the gossip going on upstairs though, gotta ask around to see what I missed! :-) I forget exactly how it all started but I remember (and I wasn't even drinking!) something about asking Kelson to bring something on his way over?? Anywho, Mercedes said something about 'a random duke' ... I heard, 'a random dude.' and spoke up saying that "Yes, Kelson should bring a random dude with him, one for me, one for Mercedes." :-) We then got on the topic of Geneviere saying she would 'pimp' for us. .... hmm, I'm wondering if I could actually hold that too her??? Afterall, I'm lousy at picking them for myself, and for some odd reason, I keep atracting the married ones!! Which I have no idea WHY!
So, thank you to everyone who came out and helped me celebrate!!!!
Today I got taken out to lunch by one of my co-workers, just to a local place called Wildflowers. Had thier Fish & Chips, which was pretty decent. We sat and chatted for about and hour or so, but then HAD to get back to the office. Oh well. The weather outside is lovely, and it would have been easy enough to make a left out of the parking lot instead of a right (which leads back to work).
Tonight I'm off to Browns Mills to do some bobbin lace with my friend Sarah. Time to pick a new pattern to work on. I want to start making a lace trim to sew onto a chemise - i.e. make something useful! :-)
