I made a stop at the DMV this morning, making it in and out in less than a 1/2 hour, not to bad - time wise - although I didn't get everything done either. I needed to renew my license & register my old car (Tori will be coming home from college next month and wants to take it back with her.)
So I show up with my 6 points of ID: passport and current NJ digital drivers license - each worth 4 points. 4+4=8 and I only need 6 right? "You need one more" she says. Good thing I had a few other items with me "just in case."
I also hand her the registration renewal form, which I had to fill out a new one because I never got the other form in the mail. Had all but one peice of information written on the form. I didn't know the licence plate number, so she said I couldn't renew it. "The car is sitting in my driveway, I don't have the old registration card becasue that is in Washington state with my neice." What I wanted to say was "Isn't this the DMV? Don't you have all that information in a computer? Like the computer infront of you? Can't you look it up by the VIN#??" (sigh) I'm going to try again tomorrow morning, this time with the plate number.
Then I have to arrange to get the car inspected and overhauled so Tori can take it across the country.
