can't recall the last visit we had....
So I'm at blockbuster last night working...we're about to close and I'm sitting on a stool in the corner so tired I might pass out...(I'd been up since six that morning...had to take Madelyn in for a MRI..because they still don't know what caused her seizures...*sighs*)when this guy comes to the counter. Josh was at my register allowing me my rest so I didn't see his face...I just heard this guy's voice...
You know that feeling you get when you're walking and forget to notice that in front of you is a glass door? You can see through it..everything is clear...yet you continue on until its too late and you feel as though you might have broken your nose?
Thats the feeling I got last night when I heard Chris' voice...I live in the middle of the country...almost dead center...yet I would have put my life on it...
I stood up but the young man had walked away and all I could see was a black button down long sleeved shirt and a head full of thick very light brownish hair...it was long past his shoulders and fairly straight....so again...I'm frowning at myself because this just can't be right...
So then I decide to go back to work and start talking to Josh...there isn't anyone else in the store but its quiet so I keep looking around...Josh is a pretty funny guy so he had my mind back on track in no time...
However...just at that very moment up walks this guy to my register again...which I am standing behind...I shit you not its like someone brought to life a still photograph from 8 years past...this was a complete version of Chris...
His name wasn't of course when I pulled up the account to rent him his movie...but as he stood there talking to me for a few minutes even the conversation was one like having with Chris....
And there's no one to tell that to..Even my therapist knows nothing yet about my internet adventures this lifetime ago...so its like a ball in the pit of my stomach....its to creepy to even blame it on everyone's twin...
The name Ben Breathwaite even seems like it could easily have been his...
