Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. So good! Even if you don't feel spiritually enlightened after... she's still a good writer and hella funny, and her travels are very interesting.

You know who when you have some stuff to do, you do it and then feel accomplished? Well, when I have a lot of stuff to do, I just wallow in myself and don't do anything until the last minute. My classes are crazy, but mostly I am trying to plan my senior voice recital (Saturday, January 10th at 4pm at Grand Valley, please come!) This procedure requires some sort of miracle. Planning out my songs: 3 french, 3 german, 3 italian, 3 english, 1 musical theater; then learning the language pronunciation, translations, melody, memorizing, scheduling extra lessons, scheduling rehearsals with my accompanists, performing in studio classes, just breathing is being written down in my planner. Not only learning these things, but learning them early enough so that i'm comfy with them and not some sort of wreck on stage. On STAGE! Me! again! it's been a long time.. and i'm not going to lie, i'm freakin'. (refer to a MADtv skit involving kate winslet and that blonde girl for the next statement) Can I get my ears pierced Rick? I'M TERRIFIED RICK RICK RICCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Poor Ellie. School is for single people.

Oh! But at least my accompanist is a 40-something gay man who is the best collaborative pianist/viola instructor that i've ever worked with. and he LOVES me.

Also, my goddess of a voice teacher, Kathryn, is having a baby. That leaves me no time to reschedule anything. All of her voice students that are giving recitals (junior perf. majors, senior ed and perf majors) are giving them this semester or, like 4 of us, the first week of next semester. but basically, we're all in the baby danger labor zone come the new year. i swear to god, if she goes into labor before/during my recital, i will die. i NEEEEEEEEEEd her.

I'm so crazy. Ah well. This weekend I have to work (both days! boo), MidNight Snack is singing at Taste of West Michigan (which is SOLD OUT!) and then Ellie and I are going to enjoy some good old fashioned drunken football game ass kickin' GVSU Saturday night football. On Thursday we caught the last Broadway production of RENT at Celebration Cinemas. They do this cool thing where they screen from the Metropolitan Opera House and that's fine and good and all, I'm supposed to like all that, but RENT closed on Broadway on Sept. 7th, and they filmed it and are screening it all this weekend. Get online and find it near you, because it's soooooo much better than the movie. I mean, I liked the movie, and I've seen it live too, but it is nice to get the full show (no movie editing, broadway caliber cast, and amazing screen shots).

On a final note, this Clay Aiken stuff is getting wayyyyyyyy out of hand. I didn't know he WASN'T out of the closet! I knew he was a homo all along. Good for him to be all proud and daddy and all that, but let's face it, he really wasn't really in the mainstream news that much anymore...now he is. I remember when I worked at Cedar Point and he came through with his bodyguards and boyfriends and whatnot, and rode Mantis and came back into the station screaming that the ride hurt his balls and the flamboyantly gay team leader was just like "....that's what all the guys with small penises say..." priceless.
