Talk about a squeeful moment! Sebastian gets up on stage and actually starts singing! Beyond cute, it was. Here's a sample:
I made a few dozen screencaps, so if anyone wants some or if you'd like me to post some here, just say the word.
I put aside my slash glasses for the duration of this film, just so I could see Sebastian interact with an actress. The few things I've seen that were nonStrachey-related were either with other men, or his scenes with women were so short that I couldn't get a good sense of his chemistry with them.
Well, kids, I'm here to tell you that he had better rapport with that gasbag Howie Long in "Firestorm" than he had with Elisa Donovan. She was a cute actress and did well in the part, but she and Sebastian, despite giving it the old college try, did not really click. Actually, I think he would have clicked better with the woman who played Eve's best friend.
I didn't expect searing kisses, what with this being a Lifetime movie, but sheesh. Theirs looked almost like best bud kisses. Here's a sample, which was taken after they were married (the plot is a little convoluted so it's supposed to be eight years, but it's more like overnight for her):
Even the kiss they shared while alone on the porch of their little wedding cabin didn't seem all that warm, but it was better than the previous ones:
In short, he had better chemistry with Chad Allen, who is, of course, a better actor than Elisa Donovan. As with any other profession, we do better when we're paired with more talented people. I'm going to try to get hold of "Obsession" somehow, in which I do believe Sebastian plays an utter creep.
To summarize: "Eve's Christmas" was a cute movie. I could have driven my Impala through the plot holes, but watching Sebastian made up for that.
