Just got a telephone call from my parents, they made it safely to America. Thank Merlin. I know how much Mam is terrified of airplanes. It's going to be weird, not having them around for Christmas, but my sister's been after them for ages to come and visit her and when she sent them tickets... They're only gone until the 30th (there's a New Year's party booked in at the inn that Mam wants to be there for), so. I'm spending most of my time when I'm not working with Annie and her family I hope I come out in one piece, so it's not like I'll be all alone, or whatever. And I have to show my face for a few minutes, at least, at Aunt Nola's on Christmas Eve, or else she'll personally come and fetch me herself.

I do have from now until the 27th off (the most consecutive days I've had off since the summer when Annie and I went to visit Kelly), and I certainly hope to make the most of it.

I had a bit of quality time with my godson this afternoon while Shan wrapped presents. Jimmy is a very squirmy baby, as he's just figured out that waving his arms is the most hilarious thing in the world to do. And I tried to read to him, but I don't know how much of it got through, as he was more concerned with trying to pull at my shirt. But the little bugger's cute, so I let him.

Happy Christmas, everyone.

I have a ring. Well. I think I have a ring. Before she left, I went and asked Mam (I thought I did sort of owe it to her and Da to clue them in on this) what I should do and after a bit of looking, she presented me with the ring Da proposed to her with. I don't know if it's something Annie would go for, as it's not really the traditional-looking sort of ring, but. Well. I'll sit on it.

Valentine's Day is too overdone, so I'm going to avoid that. Maybe the later part of January or the first week of February.

Gods, I'm so nervous just thinking about it, what am I going to do when the day actually is here?
