America was brilliant. BRILLIANT. The holiday was just what Annie and I needed, though when we got back here, I think we needed a holiday from the holiday because we were just so tired. I guess that's what you get for trying to pack as much stuff into a week as you possibly can. My sister was a wicked host, the weather was great and I saw firsthand that the Americans can actually throw a decent party.
The weather was great, which meant that naturally, I underestimated the strength of the sun. And now... well, I'm basically a little crispy all over. I've taken potions and used creams and whatnot, so I'm not quite cousins to a lobster or a tomato anymore, but it's still not ideal. Oh well, I'll live.
We pretty much just hung around where my sister lives, but we also headed to the beach for a bit, and visited the next state over AND visited New York City, which is.... Well. I'm still not sure how all those people are able to live in that small of a territory. Dublin's as big a town as I want to live in, I think. It was incredible, don't get me wrong (we went A) because we could, and B) to see what the fuss was about), but man, was it crowded.
I'm off of work (both places) until Monday (and yes, that was completely a planned thing), so I'm just going to relax for the next few days, I think. Play a little music, for sure. Devin, if you want out for a bit again, the offer's there!
