"We can only hope. ...

...I'm assuming the shunned I fought when you and I met was a greater power like this one, and we both know how well that went."
~ Randi, Blood Charms

Yesterday was...difficult. Oh, boyo's doctor appointment went well enough. In fact the doctor worked it out so I have hard copies for all boyo's meds and he's covered for three months. I still have to refill the Concerta every 30 days, but at least now we're not scrambling to figure out an appointment with his old doctor to get the prescription each month. Hopefully he'll old doctor will do the same for us. One of the scrips is even on Kroger's $10/3 months list. Saves me $5. Not a lot, but since I know have to pay $45/3 months of the Concerta instead of $15, I'll take whatever little bit I can get. Boyo's next appointment isn't until February, and Chef will be out of school then, so hopefully there won't be any more crazy scheduling snaffus.

The new editing thing, however, ended having some problems. The first book was on a deadline that there was no way I would make, so they sent me a different one instead. While I have plenty of time to work on it, it's...got issues. And as far as I was concerned, I was now a day behind. Catching up took almost all my time and I got very little else done on my own work after waking up.

Then there't the damn tooth of doom that I couldn't afford to fix last year when I had another tooth of doom taken care of. I don't know if it's another infection or storm pressure, but I woke up in massive amounts of pain and had to take two different pain killers to do anything to it. Seems okay now, except when I eat. I have to be very careful not to touch the tooth.

And then I tried to call to prevent the disconnect of our cells (having received the disconnect notice I knew was coming Monday well after 5PM) and they were already suspended.

*head desk*

I am ready to strangle our new mail person. Up until the time change, we were getting our mail between 3:30 and 4:30. Plenty of time to call in on a disconnect notice. Since the time change, we're getting our mail closer to 6 PM. Most places are not open for me to call at 6 PM, so if the notice is dated for the same day, wee're screwed. I've been expecting this kind of snafu to mess us up for awhile now. Guess I should be glad it's the relatively lower cell bill than say my soon to be totally outrageous gas bill, but still....

And the money coming in from the editing job this week, that WAS supposed to go to gas and food, will now have to be combined with my son's minuscule SSI payment to get the cells back. Chef has got to have his cell phone. And THAT will result in us losing the DSL for up to 2 weeks. There are other connections nearby we can use, but that's not the point.

Oh, and the SAD. I sooo wanted to do nothing but sleep today. No snow hit the ground, but who cares when your house is still freezing and it's nothing but gray out there. With all the other frustrations, it was a very hard urge to resist.

So, yea, difficult. Not as much done as I'd hoped, even on a short list.

Word Counts Yesterday
Total New (incl WB): 0
Total Words: 0
Total Pages Revised: 5

Today's to do is significantly longer. Hoping I can get more things done without the appointment taking up the middle of the afternoon and reducing the number of pages for the editing project. Will need to split up all the reading I'm suddenly doing with other things so I don't go stark raving bonkers. And I need to finish my chapter.

So, for today....

» AM stretch
» 5 min Core
» B.C. chapter 23
» 1250 words
» Crit :: started
» Short Story submissions
» journals: whysper
» Alden: fin Lesson (*sigh*)
» Market Finders update
» laundry :: started
» web work: Alden.nu fixes
» dishes
» PM stretch
» reading
» beta reading
» editing work: 10 pages

I just don't even know where to begin, actually. Probably as usual, with the easy stuff, but bed still looks damn good.

But will be good and get things done. I swear.
