... I can't risk the spell not being strong enough."

His eyes widened, her hand slipped from his as he stepped back. "You think you can handle one of them?"

"You know what they are."

~ Randi & Kelldaryth, Blood Charms

Still not happy with this chapter. Beginning to suspect I may never be happy with this chapter.

*grumps*

Beyond that, a pretty good day. Most things crossed off the to do list. And Chef was home this evening to cook. I so miss his cooking these days, but I guess I better get used to it. Once he's done with classes, he's looking for another job in addition tot he catering. And the catering alone should keep him pretty busy until the new year (I've already been informed that we won't be able to celebrate our anniversary; he'll be working). Boyo is back on his Concerta (and Georgia did indeed decide to make it so I absolutely have to buy this prescription every 30 days, which just bumped my 3 month costs on meds by $30; sounds small, but between him and I, I already spend about $150 on prescrips and another $30 on required otc's-I think anyone can see why I'd be upset at yet another $30 being added to that when I'm already on a limited budget), which was a major concern since his teacher is still watching the situation. We get another pay day on Thursday, but I suspect most of it will be going to bills or rent, so it's good to have the basics managed right now. All in all, I feel pretty good about most things, and that always helps with progress.

starting line:
Red welts still scored her skin Monday morning. Still sore and raw, she decided to make the morning as easy as possible and put a breakfast pocket in the toaster instead of making anything fresh.

ending line:
"Hey, kiddo." Austin looked up, frowning, but she couldn't tell if it was irritation at being interrupted again or worry. "If I'm home after dinner, get to bed before it's too late, okay? No drawing all night."

He nodded and went back to his picture, and after a minute, she headed out the door.

Most of the changes I made were early int he chapter, and it still needs some tinkering. I feel like I'm trying to get things across that critters have asked for and just not...managing it. I am feeling more connected to my MC (better be by now!), but I'm still struggling to get her across on paper. She's not a very forthcoming MC. Has good reason for it, but it does make it difficult.

Anyway, more of the same today, but I should be able to move on to chapter 17, even if I still hate 16. :P

I actually thought about getting that whysper done yesterday, then...it just never happened. Not sure what that was about. I think maybe I reconsidered what I was going to post about, and then I had nothing to replace it. Not like I have a thrilling life, really. I'm home to keep an eye on my son, have no transportation 90% of the time, so I stay home and write and fiddle online, and do little things. I'm got physical issues that keep me from being a walker in my rather hilly neighborhood. So, I don't go anywhere. So not like I have much for whysper (and no wonder it's a lot of financial whining).

Anyway, hoping today will be as good as yesterday, even though Chef won't be cooking tonight.

*sigh*
