Today begins the week of preparing for the holidays and having kids home and not getting as much done writing wise. I've got the whole week pretty much planned to prep for Thanksgiving, which is when we put up our Christmas tree and decorations (as an expression of our thankfulness for Christ). My only big concern is the lights because if any of our strands don't work and can't be fixed with the extra, loose bulbs we have, we won't be able to replace them as we are flat broke at the moment.
Oh, and anyone want to rush me one of
these? I had two, need two for Thanksgiving, and one of them split down the middle. It was very odd. I've never seen anything like it. One minute it was fine, the next it cracked and was split in two with a couple of shards. Good news was it was on a counter, so no one had to worry about impaling a foot.
I need two pie plates for Thanksgiving, but if I don't have two, I'm sure I'll figure something out. I have a couple 8" metal tins, they're just too small. Maybe I can increase a recipe and use my 9 x 13 baking dish for one of the two things I need a pie plate for, probably the Sweet Potato Pie. If I have enough sweet potatoes. Probably do-I asked the man to get 3 medium and I think he brought home 4 or 5 larger ones, and the recipe asks for 2 medium. lol
Anyway, the goals are mostly domestic, as usual on Mondays, and fairly general where writing is concerned....

The kids will be working on the office, garage, and front yard, for the most part. I'm more of an adviser (yes, put that in a box; no, throw that out; no, don't throw that out; etc), but I'll have to watch the baby and watch them to make sure youngest's sticky fingers don't come into play.
For dinner tonight, I'll be trying out our new recipe for from scratch Cornbread Stuffing. Made the cornbread yesterday and cubed it up. I have to toast it up before I make the stuffing, so I'll have to start working on dinner about 4 or 4:30 since the chicken will take at least an hour and a half to roast. The man also wants mashed potatoes to use up the gravy that came in a care package we got. I always find stuffing and mashed potatoes a bit much together, but I love them both and won't turn them away either. lol
Anyway, better get a move on.
tsykika is refusing to get up and needs to get ready fro school. Yes, I still have to mother my 22 year old. lol
In case I don't manage to post the rest of the week, I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving Week and a warm, happy, blessed Thanksgiving. :)
