Monday started off with a splurge of writing energy, resulting in yet a third new short.
Scary.
Then a storm came through and I had to dive offline, so I worked on poetry revisions since the A.C. revisions are being stubborn. Unfortunately, the storm also sapped my motivation, and I didn't finish. Still, Monday's word count has alreay gone over the word count for the entire week last week.
"The Reckoning"
starting count: 0
ending count: 3766
gain/loss: +3766
Actual (processed) word count: 3766
Poetry Collection 1
starting count: 598
ending count: 595
gain/loss: -3
Actual (processed) word count: 86
Total for the Day: 3852
Both need to be finished. The short is in a particularly odd place for me: the beginning, some of the middle, and the ending are written -- I just have to get the where I'm at to meet where I need to go. It also needs a new title. I only made it through one of the 3 poems that need to be worked on in this particular collection (thus the big difference in the beginning/ending counts versus the total words processed). I'm debating on sending the mess out or posting the 2 revised poems (only) for critiques. I'll probably just try to send the batch out. I'm to the point where the comments I'm getting are too varied -- there's little to no agreement in the crits.
And now I'm off for that LOTR therapy. Hopefully immersing myself in the epic fantasy mood will kick start A.C. again and get me past this revisions block.
