~ Blood Charms

Is it really almost the middle of the year? Just...wow. Where has this year gone?

I'm pretty much set for this week. Not quite sure how much will get done today. Not that we have a whole lot of people coming over for the holiday, but I am making 2 loaves of bread and need to start my laundry. Really not much else going on for us today, so hopefully the bread making will not only be successful (making the Rosemary-Olive Oil Bread that keeps not working quite right) but also not annihilate my time.

Here's where I'm at so far....

So, Assassin's. One, it was rejected by DMP. No comments as to why, but I suspect in large part it had to do with the word count. I mean, it was the length they wanted plus another 1/4th. lol At any rate, when I started last week, I did changes based on my beta comments, few of which had anything to do with cuts (though one person had a huge addition that I'm not going to do). I then made my cuts in the same file as I did my beta changes. This may not seem like a big deal, but I tend to keep separate files of changes, and should have made a new file for my cuts after the beta changes. So I'm starting again and am going to do all the beta changes first then make a new file and do the cuts separately.

Yea, I know, I'm crazy like that. But I don't see changes made based on the beta comments as being an issue for me in the future, while my cuts might end up making me unhappy. So keeping the beta changes in a separate file makes sense to me.

Anyway, the other 2 novels, Charms and Quest, are going pretty well. I'm really happy with where I'm at with Charms. Amazing how well things can go when you free yourself to step out of established boundaries or whatever you perceive to be limiting you. There are still spots where it feels like a slog, but that's true of any novel and at least it's not the whole novel feeling that way anymore.

Goals for the week...

Yes, light week. Tends to happen when you don't have a vehicle. Plus we did the major grocery shopping yesterday (and spent way too much, but hubs and I had fun while doing it, and we haven't gone out and had fun in awhile). The only problem right now is finding a way to pay for some medications that need refilling this week. Fortunately, being off any of them isn't a huge issue (my son is on Fluoxetine, and that's NOT a drug you just stop taking), so if we have to wait until Friday, we'll manage. Boyo might drive us up the wall with uncontrolled ADHD, but we should survive it. lol

Today's list....

» A.C. polishing: beta comments :: fin. 1st 50 pgs, need to type up
» B.C. ch. 4 revision/post :: started
» B.C. ch. 6
» 1500 + 300 in world building
» journals: whysper
» daily reading
» bread: 1 Rye-Wheat Loaf
» bread: 1 Rosemary-Olive Oil Loaf :: made 2!

Need to get going and get started. 2 loaves of bread in one day, and different types, takes time. Since the Rosemary is part of our dinner tonight, need to get it started. :)

And, you know, eating might be a good thing too. lol

Have a good holiday!
