Christmas Surprise

Dec 24, 2008 18:58

I was out helping the oldest finish her Christmas shopping when the man called. And, yes, I know how crazy it is to be out shopping on Christmas eve. The husband had gone out earlier this morning and called me from the mall to tell me he had never seen so many men standing in one place. I just laughed. I laughed harder when he told me that a lot of them were accompanied by children.

I was evil. I let the man do all our shopping.

And then I got payback: oldest had gotten her paycheck and had to do her shopping. It was NUTS. And the traffic was worse than the stores! Anyway, so the man called. I missed the call and had to call him back.

Him: Hey, you have a check over here for 6.60.
Me: I do?
Him: Yea.
Me: Where from?
*pause as he checks*
Him: Double-Edge Publishing.
Me: Oh! It's a royalty check!

So, yea, apparently the little anthology with my gargoyle story is still selling! Not a lot of royalty there, but I wasn't expecting anything at all when I didn't get a check in January.

So, yea, go me! :D
