I just got the check for my sale of "When Tears Fall" for the Voices in Autism antho. I had hoped for the higher pay level, but they apparently used the rounded number of words at the top of the manuscript (which is what I've always been told to do) rather than counting the words themselves.
But I don't care. I just got paid about 7.5 cents per word. 7.5!
Maybe that's no big deal to anyone else, but it's a first to me. I am sooooooooooo jazzed.
Oh, and my copy f the signed contract was in there as well.
We're going out to a taco place to "celebrate". And then I'm going to see if I can find a few things I want at Target. Useful things, sort of. Bento things. Not many things, and I am including food on the list. We need eggs and stuff.
