There are some writers who can use language beautifully -- they take words and use them in ways that are unique and beautiful (
rarelytame comes to mind as one). I'm not one of them.
And it's driving me crazy.
I know I have at least one or two more revisions after this one for A.C. and I'm locking up on word use. I read a sentence and go "how utterly boring" but I can't think of ways or words to make it more interesting. In my head, I realize that this is not necessarily a bad thing; but it's definitely getting in the way of my revising in a bad way and slowing me down.
And I know the version that I finalize for submission is only going to be worse.
How the heck do you deal with this? (Okay, so, for all I know, I'm the only person I know that deals with this! lol Would be just my luck! ;)) What do you do to make your word use interesting and unique when your brain seems to have a problem working that way? Or do you even bother?
Yes, I know I'm obsessing on this too much. :P
