For some reason, if I don't post my goals here at the beginning of the week, I fall apart at some point during the week. Oh, not in a losing my mind kind of way. I just can't seem to get it together and do what I'm supposed to be doing, even if I have it down in my planner.
Honestly? Just don't get it.
And really don't get what the heck happened this past week. Weight went way up then came back down. Started off strong doing things early in the week; by the weekend, I was struggling just to get every day things done. There were no major crises, no drama, no bumps. The only concern was the checks on Friday. All of them at what looks to be at about what they should be, and I'm concerned about spreading the money the way we need to cover ourselves over the second week.
Oh, I guess there was one major crisis: the rent check was deposited in Wells Fargo Thursday and somehow hit our bank the same day...and bounced. Now I know to turn in our check after 2 PM, and I've talked with the office. The head rental lady says she doesn't know if she can help, but once she gets notified by the owners, she'll do what she can since our history with them is good. Hubs is not happy, and I'm like WTF? about how quick that check hit our account (really, didn't checks used to take 2 or 3 days to get from one bank to another? This is a CHECK, not a debit transaction, so I'm...boggled).
Beyond that? Quiet. No, really, nothing to report. Chef and I are talking about taking out a loan to clear the credit cards and get them all under one payment, and we've talked about getting all our stuff out of storage and bringing it to the apartment. It'd all be stacked in boxes, but it would save us $100/month, which would help if we decide to get the loan. Heck, it'll help regardless. The problem is getting it all tot he apartment and figuring out what to do with the stand I picked up for the yard work tools that we're not going to need to use for some time. And no, convincing the husband to get rid of any of it isn't going to work. lol
On the plus side, the next few checks look really good.

» weight loss :: goal: 24 lbs in 2012; -160 overall; last week: +.4; total: -14.4 this year, -44.6 overall
Totally have no idea where this weight gain came from. I was 2k under the previous week and still spiked 4 pounds before dropping again. At least it dropped?
I'm frustrated. My pump up the amount of exercise worked for 2 weeks, then tanked. Now, it could be I didn't eat enough (unlikely; I've been eating over BMR and exercising the excess and then some off), that my body is getting used to certain activities I've been counting as exercise (dropping at least one of them off my list), or something I can't otherwise figure out. I'm going to try taking a day or two off a week from exercise since some health sites say that can help. And I'm going to start drinking more of my hot tea in place of eating snacks. It tends to be lower cal than anything I choose to eat even with the milk and sugar I use (both of which have been cut back significantly over the last year or so). I'm fighting the munchies and to get down to my recommended servings and serving sizes.
Also, hubs is letting me picking up my Christmas present early: a FitBit. The current pedometer I have, I'm pretty sure is inaccurate. Plus I'm concerned about how much and how well I'm sleeping. And the FitBit may help me pinpoint more accurately the cals I burn doing some of my other activities. We'll see. Plus it's compatible with LoseIt!. I've been considering one for awhile now, so I'm real excited about it.
Will it help? Who knows. I think it'll be good to get a more accurate look at the calories I'm burning. And I definitely need a look at my sleeping patterns. Been tired a lot more lately, and since I'm getting my iron, and it's not been cloudy all that often, sleep is my next thing to look at. Who knows, figuring out if something's up with my sleep and making an effort to fix it might help with the food issues a little.
Anyway, yea, excited about that. ;)

So, made the decision to cut most of my Alden.nu stuff off my list for now. If something comes to me, I'll post a Lesson or a Meta. Or I might merge Meta with Journeys. Don't know. The thing right now is that trying to update once a week isn't working. So, for now, it's best to take the pressure off, and update when I can. Haven't decided about taking much else off yet, but not having the constant miss on these particular areas of Alden over my head will be nice.
One thing I'm still trying to decide is whether or not to finalize the transfer to Dreamwidth. From what I read on the thread, LJ was asking for comments on the new friends page, but has intended to move forward with it no matter how much people hate it. And the new "packages" they'll be trotting out in place of paying accounts sound like they'll end up being more expensive (this is what happens when you break up options: the options you decide to pay for end up being more expensive combined than what you were initially paying with them all in one lump). If I do go, the White List will no longer be viable for me, and the only comm that would come with me would be MF, assuming I take it with me. Everything else will just get ignored until LJ purges it. Might set up cross-posting where I can.
This week looks pretty standard in terms of the to do, pretty scary in terms of the money. Nothing new. ;)

Okay, so letting last week go. It ended on a down note, but it's a new week now. I'm going to make it better. I'm stressing the weight issue a little, but I'm over 1/4th the way to where I want to be and lower than I was a month ago. I'll count that as a win and keep on keeping on.
Okay, off to do more revising before I crash a little early. Maybe. I'm tired, still sore from yesterday's insane walk to the farmer's market. Bed now looks better by the minute.
