RIP Valjean

My pet rat, Valjean, died last week. He was my first pet. I got him not long after I bought my house and I really loved having him there. He was almost 2 years old, which is pretty old in rat years but I still wasn't quite ready for it. My family really doesn't understand that I am sad about him dying. They just thought he was gross. Except my sister, who surprisingly, was very compassionate. She really liked him. Marine was trying to be sympathetic but I know that he's not exactly sad that he's gone. But, he did try to comfort me which was nice.

I love you and will miss you!

I'm trying to look at the positive. While I'm sad that he died, I am happy to report that my dog will be a daddy again in just a few more weeks. I'm not getting any of them but it does make me excited. Javert's birthday is on the 18th so I'm kind of hoping that YaYa, the mother, will have them on that day. It would just be cute.

I'm still working on getting the book club thing going. I'm thinking about starting it at the end of the month if I can get everyone together. I'm not sure how to pick the first book. I thought I'd start with something that's popular now and that be the kick start. I've got a variety of people interested and that always makes for good discussions.
So, georgiasongbird, there is a spot saved for you if you're still interested.
