LittleBigPlanet

I got Little Big Planet for xmas and have spent a few hours trying it out. The graphics are really impressive. Everything looks like it has been made from cardboard and constructed into a diorama. But the game itself isn't grabbing me. I'm running around and finding scoring bubbles and art bubbles and trying to find hidden thingies. It's a clssic platforming game, and I think the platforming genre reached its peak with Super Mario Brothers 3.

They're clearly trying to create a community of level-builders and players, and that's neat. I played one called Little Dead Space. It had me running around on a space ship while monsters were eating my friends. It still had the cutesy Little Big Planet feel, though.

I'll probably go back and play it some more. Building levels sounds kind of interesting, but building Little Big Planet would have been more interesting to me. I am a coder, not an artist. I may take it to Gamestop and trade it in while it's still in high demand. I'm not sure what I would get, though: I've been downloading demos and things, and nothing has really grabbed me that I can play. Bioshock looks really cool, but makes me motion-sick.

Hope you all have new, fun toys to play with!
