Helloo!
So after more than 10 years, finally this is my first post in livejournal. Not really a very public person myself, hence not too comfortable posting anything online (facebook, instagram and the likes included), but hey let's give this a try..
Introduced to livejournal by a friend in 2009 as the only (I think..) oasis to our Jpop (or should I say JE) fandom craze. Started as Hey! Say! Jump fan for a while till somehow I found my way to NEWS cos it's a small Johnny's world, right..

Sadly, got to step out of the fandom in 2011 cos school and just life, in general, happened.. and for the next 9 years I have managed to abstain from JPOP altogether. I still took some peeks on how the HSJ kids were doing every now and then though, like in youtube. Little did my noob old self know, getting updates on Johnny's through youtube is just.. an impossible feat. So I honestly thought they were all disbanded already since there was hardly anything at all anywhere..
Until, super recently in 2020, Netflix suddenly aired this old movie titled "Memoirs of Teenage Amnesiac" with Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi and.. Tegoshi that I was reminded that I used to like NEWS too, albeit for a very short while. And it was a downward spiral from there OTL
Started scouring through livejournal and blogspots for updates on NEWS, found out about Yamapi and Ryo's departure in 2011 and the 4nin comeback in 2012, watched their most recent concerts only to find that Tegoshi has become this loud, super confident and talkative persona, pretty different from the Tegoshi in 2010. (Don't get me wrong, I like him way more now than before...) and other awesome updates like:
- Shige actually wrote REAL books that were made into movies and dramas
- Massu's forte is really on clothes and costumes and that he designed all their live tour's costumes (soo glad that he did, so gone are the days of feathery and tacky old JE costumes)
- Koyama was made into newscaster at some point
Amazing.. these dudes really became something. Pardon the patronizing tone but I honestly had the impression Jpop boybands were much more lacking in vocal and dancing abilities compared to Kpop's, so was wondering for the longest of time (despite being a fan myself) what about them that really sells.. (finally found the answer as I sought within myself what I like the most about them - their personalities)
And absolutely no offense to Yamapi and Ryo's fans, but thought NEWS has finally reached its peak at 4. I thought the individual members' personalities and roles in the group shine like never before.. Although I thought I became a NEWS fan in 2010, I think I have only had eyes for Tegoshi. Until they became 4 and all the above happened, and I started looking at Massu, Shige and Koyama too and thought they are just equally awesome.
Though, yeah, not gonna ignore the elephant in the room, about Tego's recent departure. Still not too sure how am I gonna divide my heart to this NEWS+1 situation, but oh well.. praying for the best for them anyway.
Okay, so I have said waayy too much for a first post, but hey this is kinda enjoyable..
