Tolkien
I was trying to remember if I was the one who introduced you to Tolkien. Generally you didn't like the same books I had. There is a great movie about Tolkien's life, just called "Tolkien". My kids were raised on books, including those. When kids whose families I don't know well tell me their school is not teaching them what they want to know or their homeschooling plan is inadequate, I tell them to make friends with a library and its staff. The Brooklyn public library will give kids from anywhere in the US access by internet, as will a number of other major ones, if there isn't a decent local public library. Tolkien had been homeschooled before his mother brought her family to England after she was widowed.
