Chapter 18 Posted; Chapter 19 Plans...
Posted chapter 18 ("Beautiful is the Child") at approximately 4:00 A.M. today, detailing the hours up to and including Wyatt's birth. I was exhausted all day--which work didn't help--but it was worth it! I'm satisfied with the way the chapter came out, especially as it was so long in coming. Still, all the research I did ultimately paid off: I achieved a medically accurate labor and birth (although, granted, I did skip over the delivery of the placenta).
I have tentative plans to start chapter 19 (as yet untitled) today, but they hinge on my ability to stay awake awhile longer, which I'm not sure is going to happen without far more caffeine than I currently have available. In any case, chapter 19 begins a short "acclimating to newborn in household" period, which should last for a chapter or two before I move into the previously mentioned "demons after the baby" conflict arc. There'll be more to it than that, of course, but I don't want to spoil anything for you...
I've refined my plans for the story's scope: TRD will go through S6, covering Phoebe's pregnancy and a short period after it, then cut to an epilogue taking place some years in the future. (This leaves the possibility of an S7-8 story open, depending on my Muse and my scholastic workload.) This seems, thus far, like the most logical way to handle things.
