Huzzah, Break Out the Champagne, Free at Last
The decree Absolute has finally been issued... the court got the decree Nisi wrong the first time.
So I am finally free of that squalid little man. Now just waiting for the tight-wad to pay up (considering the court agreement was for him to do so last May, don't hold your breath).
Time to party.
Will be organising lots of fun things this year to celebrate my 50th birthday. Paris was lovely last weekend, saw lots of stuff I have not seen before and some stuff I had not seen for 30 years.
Wanna go to the Spring event in Wincanton.
Time for fun, fun, fun and frolics.
Oh, and I made my first stage appearance last week in our production of "Wyrd Sisters". I can now officially put "crowd" on my theatre CV along with foley artist (for "Table Manners" I had to drop a bunch of noisy things to recreate the sound of a tray crashing, continuity person (prompt), publicity officer, assistant armorer (chest plates made out of papier mache and chain mail made out of garden wire), costume maker (4 shirts and 4 cloaks - the cloaks are brilliant, they really swish when you walk), prop person and stage-hand.
The props were the hardest job - I volunteered for that one before the director told me he wanted to serve 4 (count them, 4!) meals on stage during the course of the play...the memory still gives me the eeeks! Thank god I had some super help from Lynne & Nigel.
Also, Stage Hand is very stressful (especially with me being accident prone) trying to move furniture and props around in the dark silently is tough, however our Anne did a brilliant job, even though she is quite petite she was lugging the wooden stocks off and on stage single handed. Adrian, the guy who is an angel and volunteers to be our Stage Manager each time is totally wonderful at keeping us all organised and getting the right thing on stage at the right time. I will not be volunteering for stage-hand again. But I feel I need to get experience in all these areas before I direct, so it will be sound and lighting next, and I am going to audition for a speaking part - but am dreading learning lines... and forgetting them immediately. One of our actresses used to be a pro, and she teaches acting so I am going to ask her to give me lessons in voice projection etc.
