Harper's Island: Character Guide
Harper's Island! It is not uncommon for myself, when watching a new show, to have a little trouble remembering characters and their stories/purpose, especially with ensemble casts. You may not catch little pieces of information or sometimes even names! For this reason, I've put together a little character guide for the characters of the CBS television series Harper's Island. (From the effort put into creating this guide, the character profiles are now permanently lodged in my brain, haha.)
I tried to keep the guide as spoiler-free as possible. These are my observations of the characters as they are presented in 1x01 "Whap". I hope to do a little somthing for each episode, so keep a look out. :)
The Story
So basically, we have our wedding guests being picked off one-by-one, à la Ten Little Indians.

Abby Mills
The Good Girl
Abby Mills, Harper's Island native. After her mother was murdered, Abby moved to Los Angeles.
She returns to Harper's Island after seven years to attend her best friend Henry's wedding.
Henry Dunn
The Groom
Henry Dunn Smiley, the groom. Henry worked summers on Harper's island while growing up.
He returns to Harper's Island to wed fiancée Trish Wellington.
Trish Wellington
The Bride
Trish Wellington, the bride. Trish is the privileged daughter of real estate mogul Thomas Wellington.
She returns to Harper's Island to wed fiance Henry Dunn.
Thomas and Katherine Wellington
The Father of the Bride | The Stepmother
Thomas and Katherine Wellington, father and stepmother of Trish Wellington.
Chloe Carter
The Flirt
Chloe Carter, bridesmaid/resident flirt. Chloe is fascinated with serial killers.
Cal Vandeusen
The Outsider
Cal Vandeusen, the outsider~. Cal is a British gent and Chloe's boyfriend, accompanying her to the wedding.
Hunter Jennings
The Other Man
Hunter Jennings, Trish's creepy ex. Shows up at Thomas' request, tries to stop Trish from marrying Henry.
Jimmy Mance
The Old Flame
Jimmy Mance, local fisherman and Abby's old flame. Jimmy is happy that Abby has returned to Harper's Island.
Shane Pierce
The Townie
Shane Pierce, Jimmy's best friend. Shane is not a people person.
He is not happy about Abby's return and is not particularly fond of J.D.
Marty Dunn
The Uncle
Marty Dunn, father figure/uncle to Henry and J.D. Eccentric.
Shea Allen
The Maid of Honor
Shea Allen, Trish's older sister and Matron of Honor. Mother of Madison Allen.
Richard Allen
The Brother-in-Law
Richard Allen, the brother-in-law. Husband to Shea Allen and father of Madison Allen.
Madison Allen
The Flower Girl
Madison Allen, the little spooky flower girl. Madison is the daughter of Shea and Richard Allen.
Her special friend tells her things.
J.D. Dunn
The Black Sheep
J.D. Dunn, Henry's brother. The tattooed "dark and brooding loner".
Kelly Seaver
The Outcast
Kelly Seaver, Harper's Island local. She and Abby have something in common.
Her mother and Abby's mother were both killed by John Wakefield seven years ago.
Chris "Sully" Sullivan, Danny Brooks, Malcolm Ross

The guys, Henry's best friends and groomsmen.
Lucy Daramour
The Socialite
Lucy Daramour, bridesmaid. Lucy is Trish's childhood friend, and the little rat is Gigi.
Beth Barrington

Beth Barrington, bridesmaid. Beth is Trish's former college roomate.
Nikki Bolton

Nikki Bolton, an old friend of Abby's and bartender at The Cannery.
