Prompt 155.3 almost...
1. Started off his existence with a problematic regeneration which nearly failed; only through the concentrated efforts of his companions (and with no help from the Master) was the Doctor able to settle fully into his fifth incarnation.
Oh, yes, I believe that was my most troubling and difficult regeneration yet.
2. Generally known as the most "human" and compassionate of the Doctors and also among the youngest in appearance.
He had better hair than mine; it did precisely as I wanted to unlike now where I am compelled to lob a hat on it and be done with it.
3. Is sometimes frustrated by that supposed youth, when those who meet him don’t take him seriously because of his age.
And now I'm frustrated with my height, proving that I really ought to be pleased with whatever attributes I'm given considering how many times I was strapped or buckled to something that I can easy worm my way out of now.
4. Is absolutely baffled by anyone who finds him attractive.
I'm even more baffled.
5. Has a deep sense of justice and what's right and wrong.
I still do, though sometimes I realize that "good" isn't always what you thought that it might be, and saving people occasionally requires creative thought.
6. Will strive to keep the balance tilted towards the side of good.
That hasn't changed either, no.
7. D&D alignment would be Lawful Good.
...What in Rassilon's name is a D&D? I suppose I'm right-handed.
8. Hogwarts House would be Gryffindor (though he would be found befriending an awful lot of Hufflepuffs).
Hex says Slitherin, I will take his word for this.
9. For all his Time Lord knowledge, can still be surprisingly naive and immature.
I believe I was wantonly naive then, and am far less so now.
10. Can’t for the life of him figure out human relationships.
They are the most confounding things I've ever encountered.
11. Isn't afraid of admitting being baffled by something, because "I don't know" is the first step to understanding.
"I don't know," is the first step to having the enemy manipulate you into a position of weakness.
12. Speaks with a kind of breathless enthusiasm, as if his voice can't keep up with the speed of his thoughts.
I speak in a Scottish accent and get louder the more passionate I become.
13. Has a hard time keeping his hands still; he's always wringing them, or waving them around when he speaks, or clasping them behind his back, or slipping them into his trouser pockets, or clutching his fingers around his cricket ball.
This is what an umbrella or the sonic or a companion is for!
14. Would rather try to negotiate through a problem than fight, but will fight (and quite fiercely too) if he sees no other option.
I despise violence and would always prefer the most diplomatic solution, or the most ingenious (genius rarely accompanies violence).
15. Is quite ruthless in this regard, and will seek the destruction of an enemy who has shown no mercy.
Mercy is something that I should have shown more than I have, and I can only hope in the future that I allow myself to be taken in by it more often.
16. Is willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, though they must prove themselves worthy in his eyes and this always seems to end in disappointment.
All the fun people take a bit of work; it's wrong to jump to unnecessary conclusions on them.
17. Tends to get snarky when not taken seriously.
I've always done that, because what else does one do when some primitive know-it-all attempts to righteously inform you of everything he or she supposes is true in the universe.
18. Will do absolutely anything to protect his companions.
That is much the same as it used to be.
19. Even sacrifice himself.
Thankfully that hasn't been required of me.
20. Gives his companions the lead in figuring things out; at the very least, it keeps him from having to do all the thinking himself.
My companions find out the information I need, but mine are often brought in for questioning and it's best that they not be called on what they know.
21. Surrounds himself with people to not feel so lonely.
I don't need them in great numbers any longer, but I do like to keep them around and go find the ones I miss.
22. Actually afraid of that loneliness and is starting to realise that it will grow more pronounced in later incarnations.
If only I had went back when I was his age and saw, then I might have been less afraid knowing that I helped many on with their lives.
23. Likes cricket.
I do!
24. Likes cricket a lot, as it's the first thing his muddled regenerating brain latched onto.
I'm not as good at it as I used to be and the short arms have noticeably affected my bowling.
25. Likes most human sports, actually.
I'm much more fond of slight of hand now.
26. He enjoys the idea of friendly competition in order for humans to strive for some great achievement.
Humans need entertainment, and through entertainment you can impart messages of great importance into their subconscious.
27. Having met his first, second, third, and tenth incarnations, still believes he's the most agreeable one.
As you can tell, I was quite the modest man, then; even more worldly and demure than I am now.
28. Not really certain why he has that stick of celery on his lapel, but it's gotten him out of a lot of trouble so he keeps it.
The celery stick isn't quite as comfortable as the pullover, in fact I used most of the same elements of attire save for that blasted sprig.
29. Likes making up different excuses for why it's there.
People don't ask me about the question marks or I'm sure I'd have an explanation for those.
30. His favorites: "What celery?" & "It has healing properties."
Confusing people has always been one of my favourite tacs!
31. Has a horrible sense of direction.
That's what I want people to think; actually my psychic inclinations weren't as accurate as they are now.
32. Has a great sense of balance.
And mine is poor.
33. Can't Won't Can't Won't dance.
I love dancing, don't know why I didn't do it more when I had the legs for it.
34. Has a pleasant singing voice, though he’s loath to share it with others.
I may be unable to sing but my ability to play the spoons is of unparalleled universal award winning grandiose capacity.
35. Can play a great variety of musical instruments but he rarely gets a chance to share the gift.
My fingers aren't long enough to do the piano quite like I used to.
36. Still can’t play the recorder, however.
I can't either.
37. Enjoys tea more than alcohol.
I've never known that to change.
38. Can control how his body metabolises alcohol, but will likely get drunk on carbonated beverages.
I do love carbonated beverages, the sort that taste like various forms of fruit being my favourite of the lot.
39. His favourite being ginger pop, though he doesn’t indulge as often as he’d like because of its rather humiliating effects on his mental state, which seems more pronounced than in previous incarnations.
They always bring out the best in me!
40. Loves Earth, though at times he doesn't understand its people.
Human's are baffling creatures that resemble Rubik cubes but formatted in the mould of a Time Lord.
41. Thinks humans are infinitely endearing, despite their actions; at least they persevere.
My favourite part of humanity is the passion and excitement which they live their lives.
42. Loves old steam trains.
...I did?
43. Collects model train sets.
Now I remember where the old train room is!
44. Also collects books but doesn’t have a clear favourite author; after Shakespeare proved himself to be an insufferable prat, the Doctor’s soured on full-fledged hero-worship of anyone.
I've taken a shine to romance novels, because I have a fondness for happy endings and smiling faces.
45. Doesn't enjoy jelly babies as much as his previous incarnation because they get stuck in his back teeth.
I keep finding them laying about in the oddest places, especially the very bottoms of my pockets.
46. Still harbours a sweet tooth. though now mostly for baked goods.
I'll eat the jelly babies where I find them.
47. Knows an excellent chocolate chip cookie recipe.
It is an excellent recipe and responsible for the gradually increasing gut I've managed to gather for near a century.
48. Cooking is another hidden skill and he's mostly self taught.
I've a few hidden skills but most of them Benny slaps me in the shoulder for showing off at her.
49. Has spent many hours re-knitting his previous incarnation’s scarf after that post-regenerative unravelling nearly destroyed it.
I would have been glad to wear it again but the coat came down to the soles of my shoes when I wore the outfit altogether!
50. Is not afraid of death, which in turn makes him a bit reckless.
I personally like to avoid dying whenever I can as it's a phenomenally unhealthy practice.
