So I saw a few minutes of Law and Order. I'm not sure which type of Law and Order, because there's about 10,000 different ones.
In the short time I saw the heroic detectives protect the city. They were nothing short of heroes, let me tell you. When the suspect exercised his right to an attorney, they refused him a lawyer. Hooray! When he exercised his right to remain silent, the detectives threw him onto the table and talked about how he was going to be raped in jail all while one of the detectives drove his forearm into the suspect's head. Yippee!
This is why police are able rampantly trash our rights like the 4th Amendment and our Miranda Rights. Propaganda bullshit TV like Law and Order brainwash everyone into thinking only slimy criminal scum would exercise their rights. It tries to tell you that when police deny someone their right to an attorney, or beat someone for exercising their right to remain silent the police are protecting everyone and that it's completely acceptable.
And before you say, "Who cares if police do mean things to criminals?" let me ask you this. Do you think that police ever wrongly accuse people? Do you think they ever use these sorts of tactics to extract false confessions from innocent people? What makes you think you won't ever be wrongly accused of something?
Oh, and fuck that hypocrite asshole Ice T. Guess who played one of the detectives? Yeah, the same guy who made a career out of writing songs about how evil the police are for doing things like that.
