title: If It Don't Fit
rating: PG-13
fandom/pairing: Jennifer's Body; Needy/Jennifer.
spoilers/warnings: Le film, sorta; AU wherein there's no satanic succubi influence.
summary: Jennifer stays the same. Needy changes, but not completely.
words: 215.
disclaimer: I do not own Jennifer's Body, or Florence and the Machine's "Kiss With a Fist" from the soundtrack.
a/n: For the femslash100prompt "sweet".

Her lips are candy pink, and Needy can’t really remember a time when they weren’t. That time might not have existed in the first place, actually.

*

She’s a bitch like no one has ever been a bitch before, and to call that an exaggeration would be an unquestionable lie. She’s gorgeous, too, (Jennifer’s always been gorgeous, always pretty and alluring like that; Needy never has been), so that’s probably why she gets away with it.

Sometimes Needy thinks that she might like to have that luxury, too, but usually she knows that she’s definitely much happier being herself.

*

She tastes sour and sweet like shooters and bubblegum, and Needy isn’t sure that she likes it.

*

It’s amazing, in a peculiar way, that Needy (she goes by Anita now; finally) still considers Jen her best friend, after everything. Chip is nothing more than a semisweet memory, after all, and high school Needy has been almost sure that he was a forever boy. (The type of boy that women tell stories about, when they’re talking to suburban friends, as they smile fondly across the coffee table books at the Forever Boys they married.)

Needy really isn’t sure how things turned out this way.

*

Jennifer kisses like she’s starving, and Needy wonders how long she’s been like that.
