Title: Set Your Heart Afire
Rating: G.
Fandom/Pairing: Glee / New Year's Eve crossover. Rachel / Elise because why the hell not? Also slight Hummelberry friendship.
Spoilers: For the movie.
Warnings: Doppelganger!romance.
Summary: Rachel knows that Elise will be a star someday, too, just like her.
Disclaimer: I do not own: Glee; New Year's Eve thank god; "Once in Love with Amy."
a/n: That movie was awful. I'd totes be willing to pull a Randall all up in that bitch and take the producer to court to demand my money back, if not for the fact that I did appreciate Lea Michele's ass, and Zefron's Zefronness, and Sophia Vergara's boobs in the movie. So it wasn't all bad. Just...mostly.
For the femslash100prompt "connection".

Rachel recognizes the woman in the elevator instantly, and her heartbeat speeds up to keep time with the way that her breathing has become abruptly sharp and difficult.

Dropping her shopping bags at Kurt’s feet without a moment’s hesitation, Rachel runs after the woman, crying, “Excuse me!” with no concern for the attention she’s drawing.

(She can already hear the speech that Kurt will give her later when she meets up with him again - a speech about not chasing celebrities into an elevator - and imagines his annoyance when she’ll point out that the woman isn’t technically a celebrity; not yet, anyway.)

The woman - Elise, mononymously, Rachel reminds herself - holds the elevator, with a curious look on her face, and when Rachel steps in next to her, she realizes that Elise is just as extraordinarily beautiful in person as she was on television, last New Year’s Eve.

(Also, her backside is just as exceptional as Kurt had semi-objectively pointed out to Rachel, while she was too busy marveling over the other woman’s voice.)

“Going up?” Elise inquires, with all the cordiality of a humbled almost-star.

Turning her head to smile broadly up at Elise - who’s only a hair taller, but it feels like so much more; Rachel straightens her back a little more to close the height gap - Rachel nods, and extends a cheerful hand.

“Hello, my name is Rachel Berry. May I just say that you were remarkable on New Year’s? I would love to hear about your future plans.”
