First I took my son to Warped on Sunday in Milwaukee. We got there around 3pm and I had never been to Warped before so we just walked around looking at stuff. We ended up by the merch tents and I was perusing the Transplants stuff when my son asked if we could see the My Chem stuff. We walked over there and who do we standing there? Bob. And like nobody was talking to him. I was really surprised. We walked up and chatted with him. I was flattered he remembered me from Taste Of Chaos in Milwaukee and he was nice enough to take a picture with
After that we purchased a pair of the Frankie like skeleton gloves and headed off to look around more. We wandered over to the AP tent and saw a huge line of people so I asked what was up. We were told that My Chem was going to be signing stuff in like 45 minutes. After looking at the line I was glad I had my AP Cut Pass and we joined the line up in front to wait.
The guys were all really nice. Bob gave us a double take and asked if we had walked from hanging with him straight to the front of the line and I explained about the cut pass. Then we he saw my son he made a joke about how he and my son go way back. lol Frankie saw the gloves he was wearing (the skeleton ones) and told him that they were very cool. Gerard and I talked a little about Taste of Chaos and he remembered me as well. We went through the line fairly fast but they were all in good moods. There was a camera there videotaping and they got right in my son's face. He didn't know what to do so he just giggled. After the signing we went and listened to the Transplants and Offspring and a few others that played before My Chem was on. When it was time for My Chem everybody swarmed the stage so my son and I stayed in the back, climbing up on some ledges to watch. He sang along to his favorite songs and really got a kick out of it all. They played a half an hour set starting out with I'm Not Okay (I Promise). Gerard did a lot of swearing which my son pointed out to me afterwards but he assured me that he still thought they were cool nonetheless.
On Monday we headed to Chicago for the Q101 signing. Seeing as we had met My Chem once already, I was more interested in seeing the Transplants, but we decided to stay for MCR anyways. I was a bit sad that Tim didn't come for the Transplants signing but Travis and Rob were nice as were No Use For a Name and All American Rejects. We ended up first in line for the MCR signing and waited for two hours for them to come. We walked down and got our pictures signed and made jokes about seeing them again. Gerard called me Honey and said it was nice to see me again. Mikey didn't talk much at all but Frankie did. He actually made his goofy cheesy grin for me to take a picture of but dropped it too quickly so I didn't get it. And Bob gave us stickers and talked to my son a little bit again. There was a huge crowd so we didn't have a lot of time to be there. We said we'd see them in July at Warped in Chicago and left. All the way home my son babbled about them and how cool it was to meet them. Really I'm just glad he's happy, that made the last two days really worth it.
After the guys from "No Use For a Name" signed our autographs, they gave my son a copy of their new cd and told him to sing along to all of the songs, except the naughty words..
