Oh, oh this was so so perfect sweetness. Just what I needed after the crazy week and irritating birthday I had.

*loves and loves*

Dear heavens, you...this was genius.

“What if I want to hear you say it?” Billy’s voice was still smooth, but something was missing... the certainty.

“Billy, I don’t understand...”

“Sometimes it’s nice to hear how badly you want me there, how much you miss me, how much you miss us. Sometimes, at then end of the day, it’s all I have to look forward to. Do you understand that, Dominic?”

Oh, my heart, *clings*

“Dominic.” Billy’s voice was calm again, almost soothing.

“What?”

“Stop.”
“I can’t...” Dom broke... miss you. I need you.”

“I know.”

“I love you.”

“I know.”

Dominic laughed but it wasn’t funny. He had worked his way into pissed. “Don’t fucking say that. ‘I know’. Now is not the time to just say ‘I know’.”

“Fuck, it means nothing over the phone, Dommie.”

“It means something to me and don’t fucking call me that!”

omg I could hear them in my head, just *wibble*

He laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling in the dark, with a thin sheen of sweat covering the length of his body. The comforter had at some point fallen to the floor at the foot of the bed, probably while Dom was writhing to the sound of Billy’s low, thick moans which caused Dominic’s body to shudder and, apparently, kick the covers off his bed.

“I don’t want you to leave,” Dominic whispered breathless, right arm covering the arms around him.

“I know,” was the only response that came.

:( :( :(

Hurts SO good.

Flipping through the pieces of paper, it took a bit for Dominic to realize what he was holding in his hand: a round-trip ticket to Glasgow in a month’s time, and for three and a half weeks.

“You fucking bastard.”

This? Perfect ending. As someone who had to do the long distance relationship for a long arse time, I know it's not easy, and I love who you captured the all consuming longing but then redeemed the angst with the high points.

You don't offer a perfect happy ending, you offer a realistic ending, and that makes me love this all the more.

Numba ONE on the recember recs list man. :x :x :x

Thank you SO damn much.

So December was a bad month for birthdays, eh? *nuzzleloves*

Wow... so was not expecting that kind of feedback... why can't more people leave this kind of feedback? Haha. Genius? I highly doubt. Inspired? Hell yes and then some.

omg I could hear them in my head, just *wibble*
Apparently my job is complete. ;)

I've been hearing from a lot of people that this story was very realistic for a fic about a long-distance relationship. That does my heart very, very good. I'm not used to getting this much feedback... I miss it a lot.

Things are never perfect... in a way it is a happy ending because it isn't sad... it's an open ending. The reader can believe whatever they want to. If they want Dominic and Billy to be happy, Dom goes to Scotland and has fun. If they don't, Dominic breaks up with Billy in Scotland and that's that. I wasn't sure how to end it but this seemed the best way, bringing back something said earlier during the opposite situation (Billy coming to LA) whereas now Billy is inviting Dominic to stay with him.

I believe that in order for something to be realistic, the ending has to be open. Our lives don't just end after one episode and things are left undone, unsaid, what have you. So that was the most realistic thing I could do. It offers hope but things can always still go wrong.

Haha. *nuzzleloves* I'm glad you liked it, very glad. But the question is... are you willing to accept the challenge?
