It was the sick feeling in his stomach he hadn’t anticipated, and he wondered what Veronica would say if she could see him now.
I love the way you link it to his relationship with Sara. Actually, it’s crazy all the links you draw between the characters and within the characters.
She loves LJ, even though he’s not hers,” he said, as if that proved something.
He refused to think he cried more over Veronica breaking up with him than he had about his mother’s death.

The characters reach such a level of complexity in this story, it’s amazing, Candy.
Lincoln’s lips moved, and he reasoned truths that Michael would never refute, but the loop of condescension in those words You don’t understand amplified until the blaring, buzzing noise of it in his ears…
I think I closed my eyes right there. "Oh no ! Word vomit coming !"
… erupted out of his mouth. “What don’t I understand, exactly?”
"Aaaaah ! He’s going to say it !"
“Got her, Linc,” he blathered, his hands joining loosely over the zipper of her jeans.
Michael, you bastard ! (Gotta love that).

I know, I love it when Michael does inappropriate things. You expect Linc to do that, but Michael...when he does it, it's more powerful because he's so disinclined to do it.
And I know it's hard to see it, but this has always been about Sara. Always....but I couldn't advertise it as a Sara story because there is so much psychology to get through.
