Sweet without being sappy, which is a difficult balancing act.

Michael somehow coordinates with his wife, with Lincoln’s wife, and the 4.5 little children they have between them,

Implies happiness without having to spell it all out.

It also leaves it up to the reader who is currently pregnant, Sara or Jane? I loved that image.

Thanks for commenting!

This is gorgeous. And yes, you've made me sniffle. Again.

Like sk56, it's happy without being fluffy and sickly, but I'm not surprised because it's you and you're damned good. *g*

Then there was the time a 32-year-old Michael held up a bank, got thrown in jail and then broke his brother out of prison.

Like, I said. You're good.

Why, thank you. Do I make you sniffle a lot? If I do, I didn't know that.

Did you see this?

Your writing packs an emotional punch that can literally knock me for a six. *g*

And I hadn't seen that, but I have now! Wheeeeee!

First of all, this is great! When I went to do my story for the challenge, I was immediately tempted to write about Lincoln and/or Michael because there were so many possibilities, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone a little. I'm so glad you wrote this to appease my urges =:D The thought of Michael throwing a surprise birthday party for Lincoln is so incredibly plausible with his penchant for planning and it once more taps into just how thoughtful he really is and how much he cares about his brother. I love it!

Now, on to matter two...I was just going to comment somewhere on your journal, but since I wanted to leave this feedback, I might as well just do it here.

I'm sure you don't really know me so hopefully this isn't weird, but I wanted to ask if you would mind terribly if I wrote a little drabble AU ending to your fantastic story. I have been working on a PB drabble request post on my LJ and happywriter06 asked me to do it and while I don't mind, I wanted to ask you first ( ... )

Well, I do sort of know you, because I read that Kellerman piece you wrote the other day, and I left a comment (at pb-online)! I guess we could formally introduce ourselves. I'm Candy, and I know Simone quite well (I actually get to meet her in person next week!), so if you'd like to do an add-on or whatever to The Effect of Jane, feel free. That's a nice little piece, one I wrote right after we met her. I'd love to check it out when you've posted it!

Yes! I got your feedback; it made my day, really I think it's literally the only feedback I've gotten on a story at pb-online. Ha. Actually, I've read a lot of your stories but I guess our paths just never really crossed otherwise! It's funny how you can be a part of a relatively small fandom - at least as far as fiction goes - and not get to talk to everybody. So...I'm Erin and it's nice to actually talk to you! We'll consider formal introductions taken care of now :D

Anyway, I don't really know how far the drabble will get spread (I may end up posting all of the fics that come out of the request post at once on prison_breakfic or possibly on pbfic.net) but I just had to see that it was okay with you just in case I write it and then post it anywhere. I would have felt really weird otherwise! I saw that Simone was on your friends list, too, so I figured when she requested it that she'd either asked you or knew that you wouldn't mind, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask you myself, too!

I thought this fic radiates a lot of warmth. It's not being over the top or sappy, and of course, how can it be when it deals with memories such as a 9-year old Michael and their sick mother. And you notice how throughout their lives, they've never had it easy, culminating with the ultimate tragedy and ultimate sacrifice. So when there's this image at the end of a happy family together, and a baby on the way, you can't feel anything else but joy for them, because they all deserve it so much!

Yes, that's always what I want in fanfic, the eventuality of happiness! :D
