Ever seen the movie
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore?
Me neither. But the name's slipped thru my ears enough, i guess, that i was aware of its existence (but not a detail more).
Anyway, earlier i was watching another movie, a fine film called
Private Parts*
At one point, the main girl shouts at someone: "Alice doesn't live here anymore!" And the way it's set up--a little unnatural and unlikely, more of a focal point than it seems to deserve--made me think it had to be a reference to this other movie, or something. Private Parts is touted on the back cover as "...one of the screen's most bizarre works of camp filmmaking," so that kind of joke/reference is plausible.
Except Private Parts was made in 1972, and Alice in '74, and i can't fine any connection, the casts or crews. So... so much for that theory. But it just seems too deliberate, or something, to be a coincidence.
Anyone have any insights?
*This is absolutely unrelated to that loathsome dickless assclown radio-rapist, don't you dare think i would waste my eyesight on that!
