kitty needs help.... maybe

Wacky-- dear, sweet, curious, devil-may-care, maybe-dumb-as-rocks Wackydoodle-- ate some ribbon.

I was curling the ribbon on a couple last-minute gifts, and Wacky jumped up to check it out, because that's what she does-- i can't pour, stir, sew, write, fold, paint, iron, glue, baste, knead, any-action-word ANYTHING without her running over to see what it is-- but she's not really known to gnaw things, certainly not to swallow them, so i wasn't really on high alert for that, so maybe i was a little slow, but she was still really fast in getting a curl of ribbon in her mouth, biting it off and SWALLOWING IT!

Four inches. Six maybe. Not long enough that we KNOW she's in trouble, but long enough that she COULD be. In real trouble.

I called the emergency animal care place and they said i could bring her in but they were so backed up it could be hours (which is really sad. really sad. I know more people die around the holidays. But pets?), so their best DIY advice was to make her throw up by putting a few drops of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in her mouth (!?!?); not having any H2O2, i asked what else i could do, but that's apparently the only method they'll recommend, which is frustrating, because i'm pretty sure there's more than one way to nauseate a cat, and because the neighbours we asked didn't have any and neither did the few gas station mini-marts around here (and because everywhere else is CLOSED!!!).

So... now i guess we just gotta watch and wait. Hopefully it will just [GROSS-STUFF ALERT! SQUEAMISH DAVE-TYPES SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH] get pooped out, without causing any damage on its way (possible damage=tearing/bunching/obstructing the intestine). We happen to have some GlycoLax left over from Leon's gastrointestinal calamity a year ago and i was given the go-ahead to give some to Wacky in hope of letting it slip out smoothly. But there's no guarantee.

Okay. Anyway.

She seems to be feeling alright. i think. But as far as i know, it hasn't come out yet in any way. So... if you're the praying type, maybe you could throw one her way.
