So there's this woman I've been crushing on lately, but I can never bring myself to really talk to when presented with the opportunity. Until the point comes where she's aware and okay with this situation, I will simply call her River. She seems to be computer adept, and I'm hoping that if she were to stumble upon this journal, that name is vague enough to give some doubt as to who it is that I'm talking about, since I am not talking about any real events or identifying features. I have my reasons for not making it a friends-only post.
Non-graphic sexual awkwardness ahead.
Had a long strange dream. I'll record what I can remember of it now. It started out in a downtown comic store at closing. I don't recall buying anything, just looking at the window displays from inside. A woman passed by that caught my attention. I believe she was my mind's construct of River, though she did have aspects of other people I know. I ran out into the street to catch up the her, but she's no where to be seen. I wondered around for hours in hopes of finding her. I eventually found myself down at the docks, only to find that she had boarded a Greenpeace-type vessel I see headed out in the distance. I somehow gets my hands on a much smaller boat, barely a boat at all really. Her ship isn't hard to follow even though it always seemed to be fast enough to keep a good distance. After several days I found that we were in some sort of graveyard of ships. Just floating hulks of rusting metal all held together by some soft white coral. The Greenpeace ship has stopped to investigate one of the newer looking wrecks in the mess. As people began boarding, the apparently trapped ship came to life, engines on full. I see River leaning over the side, looking for help. My boat isn't fast enough to catch her, but I get close enough to yell out "I'll find you! I'll follow you..." and when she's already too far to hear, to myself I finished "...to the ends of the Earth."
Sometime later, my boat runs aground of some ice. Engine dead, I was forced to proceed by foot over the ice flow. Eventually I found the rogue ship. There are apparent signs of a battle, holes blasted in the hull from the inside, sections still smoking, debris everywhere, half sunken into the ice, which had by then refrozen, locking it in place. There were no signs of life. I spent the night in an ice cave overlooking the wreck. In the morning the smoke had cleared, so I made my way back down. The safest way onto the ship was a stairway that ran up the opposite side. As I turned around the back of the ship, I saw River just reaching the stairs. I ran to her. I grabbed her and she grabbed me back. I whispered "I told you I'd follow you to the ends of the Earth" and as we laid there, right on the stairs, she gave herself to me.
This is where the dream gets weird.
We were still on the stairs when the Greenpeace ship came crashing through the ice. Though my dream-self does not recognize them as such, the crew consisted solely of Arrested Development characters. Even River has a touch of Maebe by this point; and myself at times later on, Michael (and you thought I was going to say George). She rushes out to both greet them and make sure they didn't see anything. Over the course of a few seconds, we've renovated the ice-trapped ship. The interior had been turned into a supermarket, while the Greenpeace shipped had been attached and reimagined as a hotel with a restaurant on the "ground floor" adjoining the supermarket. At one point, a fight broke out between myself and Gob about the arrangement of frozen treats. This erupted into a full out posicle throwing battle involving the two of us, Buster, and Tobias. This only ended because Barry Zuckerkorn (Henry Winkler) had wondered into the still closed restaurant where he was mauled by a polar bear (but he lived). This incident upset River for the rest of the dream, she blamed me for not being aware of the Barry walking into danger. Eventually I cornered her in the kitchen area (all carved from ice), where I pleaded with her. I pulled up her work dress from behind, kissing the line of her pink striped panties, saying "look, I am literally kissing your ass! Please forgive me!"
That's when I woke up unfortunately.
Halfway through writing this, my boss called and asked if I felt like staying home tonight due to a truck cancellation. Sweetness. Except now that I have the house to myself, my only friend in town is busy... Damn.
